another entry at last!
hooookay... for all those people who are too mad at me to say anything because I haven't updated anything for at least... whoa. Has it really been over half a year? Anyway I hope to re started on all my online creative projects soon. I can't say how soon, but I hope to do it! Soon! I just got Flash and a Better version of Photoshop, so I hope to go mondo-cool-site-abilities in the future when I figure out how to use them. I also hope to add some videos to my online areas... but that probably wont be any time soon. As for now, I just wanted to inform you all of my return. ^ ^

FINALLY...
Ok, people! I think that our first official meeting went really well! (though it didn't go black and white in my favor, I am still well pleased) As the leader of the first official meeting if anyone needs a transcript of the meeting in a whole then you may ask me or Viannah, for minutes ask Viannah (when she finishes writing them), and I am also saving any side conversations that I had with other people for future viewing. The only part about this is that you must first gain the permission of the person whom I was speaking with in order to view that conversation. Note that I didn't speak with everyone, but this still applies.
As of now, for any future reference, we have now abolished the idea of 'separation' in the fellowship in the form of 'nine sighs' and 'later companions'. (The update of the site will soon happen, but please give me time.) This does not mean that any ideas stated before now or during the meeting concerning the nine sighs or later companions will be shunned as well, but only means that they must be altered or brought up to debate in another meeting.
There are also some changes in online meeting etiquette that I would like to suggest:
1) As a point, I would like to make it a practice that any extensive ideas about story line or anything relating should be posted online for all to see before each meeting. This way, the idea can be used as a reference, but not take up time in explanation. This especially applies to those persons who have extensive and passionate ideas. That person should then send out an e-mail to the whole of the fellowship informing everyone about their post. To save time, everyone will be expected to have read each these things prior to each new meeting, with the exception that if the article was posted within a two days of the next meeting.
2) Though we actually did this part very well in the last meeting, I feel that it must be stated. Each person should be required to inform the next meeting leader and backup leader if they will be tardy or absent within a day of the meeting. If a person fails to attend a meeting (including those who have informed the leaders prior to the meeting) then their names will not be counted in any official votes. They are allowed, though, to bring up any arguments with any official decisions made during their absentee meeting online afterward.
3) Another thing that must be clarified it that after each meeting that meeting's leader will then begin the discussion for the next meeting. This includes topic discussion and voting, next leader and backup leader voting, and conclusions to the prior meeting's decisions. The last part will also fall on the shoulders of the last meeting's secretary, who will take down the minutes and full transcript of that meeting, save them on their computer, and then submit them to a 'meeting vault' of sorts, which we will work out later, for access by any and all fellowship members.
4) Also, as a leader, each meeting's leader should be required to save any side conversations and explanations, etc. that went on during the meeting (and of course, concerning the meeting) to be submitted to the same 'meeting vault'. The only difference with this is that to view any one of these a person must gain the permission of that person which the leader was talking with. (as I stated about mine in the beginning of this post.)
5) To conclude, the leader must post a 'sum up' of that meeting's events, concluding thoughts and critiques about the meeting. Of course, anyone and everyone else is also entitled to this activity, but for efficiency, the leader should be required to write the 'leader's follow up'. Something like what I'm doing now.
Each time we do this we will get better until we have everything down. This is my ultimate hope, that in the making of rules and decisions we will come to more understanding of the fellowship and each other and, by and by, things will go more smoothly. It should be expected to have some turmoil and strife in such a beginning part of this adventure, it's only natural, but as we go along we will gain experience and wisdom and soon we will come up with an awesome story! *smiles*
To tell you the truth, I'm really excited... just the ambition is realllly cool. Plus there are people out there who are depending on us! People who some or even all of us don't know! (the reason being that much of this is online, giving virtually anyone access to most of this project, then there are room mates and outside friends that are confided in. They are depending on us!) they are waiting for the epic to form! This is an adventure!
Lastly, by request of Dave, I will soon post my idea about the nine sighs that I mentioned during the meeting. AND the poles are now officially open for discussion about the second official meeting's topic and leaders. It is also good to take into consideration the proposal that has been said about a break and a possible face-to-face meeting this summer. Feel free to send me any dates about that if you already know and I will take them into consideration before I post the next post, witch will be precisely about that! Comment comment comment!
I love all you guys!

bbblllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Ga... I had a whole post written but then I accidentally hit the power button on the computer and everything went by by! And sorry for posting it so late. Anyway, a lot of people seem to be uneasy right now and Dave suggested a great remedy: the fellowship needs a break. I propose this: we should stop meetings and discussing the fellowship story. By all means you can (and should) keep character developing and idea developing. You can talk and brain storm and do nearly anything at all to do with the fellowship with another person but we should just stop the meetings and official story discussion (well as a whole). For now we should just let ideas mull and stew through contemplation and discussion, but not actually attempt to please anyone else (such as compromise) or decide anything to make it official. This is what I think we should do: Does anyone remember me talking about how I still wanted to have a live-meeting? well now's the time. We should plan a date during the summer when everyone (or at least most) people are home and all get together at someone's house to have the first official meeting. First of all, face-to-face meetings are just easier, especially when starting a big project, and that way we can be much more personal and expressive through body language and whatnot. In any case, weather or not we decide to do this, I am still going to organize a summer meeting. My next post should be concerning only this with times and planning and stuff. We could make it sort of convention style where the meeting is actually held over a series of days. This way if someone couldn't make a day they could try for the other(s) instead. Also, the first day, though we would talk about actual issues, would be more like a sort of 'orientation' where people would come and kind of figure out how this whole meeting thing is supposed to work and then go home and mull over all the stuff we discussed that day then come back with a renewed and processed idea of the subject. Multiple days would also allow us to do other things as a group like play video games or go swimming - something as just friends together all doing what we like - initially writing a really cool story! If we decide to do this than I am completely willing to organize it all and merely get everyone's info then send out itineraries, but I also would need your cooperation on it. Isn't that what the fellowship is all about!? *grin* Anyway, the extended period from now till summer would also give us the break that we all so desperately need, then allow us to come back refreshed and contemplative. Please tell me your opinion about this and if or not you support it. I greatly anticipate what will come of our ideas in the future! Thanks. Current Mood: sleepy | | 4:48 am |

Ok, for anyone looking at this post weird, yes, I actually posted it after the one above, but I wanted to keep that one on top, so this is what I did. Anyway, I wanted to bring up the issue about meeting leader. As the first meeting still hasn't happened and I seem to have messed up what was supposed to be the first meeting, I am proposing that we hold a re-vote for 1st meeting leader. And possibly 1st meeting back up leader. Both probably. Anyway, if either gets a response, I will be posing the poles here. PLEASE respond! *smiley* Current Mood: full | | Friday, April 2nd, 2004 | | 2:10 am |
hoookaay.
I'm reeally reeally reeally sorry for all of the inconvenience, guys, but I've just been really busy lately because of school work and makeup's and whatnot, so I haven't been as active as I'd like to be. Anyway, I will be going to Pennsylvania soon (YAAYYYYYYY!! VIANNAIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!) but I promise that after I get home I will start chugging at full speed again! Yaay! That means checking e-mails! That means site updates! Yaaaay!! Hoorray! Plus next week (when I'm going to Pennsylvania) is spring break so I should hopefully have enough extra time around homework to do all this stuff. So anyway, ciao guys. Bunny Current Mood: thirsty | | Sunday, March 28th, 2004 | | 9:35 pm |
Gomen...
First of all, sorry about all the inconvenience about Wednesday for everybody who came... I had been really really looking forward to it too.
Anyway, I just got back from choir tour (we got gold and the highest score in the whole heritage festival, by the way) and have at least a bazillion things to do, so please bear with me. I haven't checked my e-mail yet (witch is really hard for me.... ga..) because I know that it will start me on at least two or three things that I shouldn't be doing before homework at this point, but I didn't want to leave you all completely stranded on my part so I've decided to post this in the hopes that someone will read it. Also, please tell anyone who doesn't know about this post because I will not send out an e-mail for already stated reasons. I also haven't read anything that dave or katie might have posted on their journals in the past five days, so I might be out of the loop for maybe a week.
Thankfully, we have spring break next week, so I will be doing a lot of catching up then, but I am also going to Pennsylvania for the first half, so we'll see how everything goes. I think that I can probably promise you that things will be fairly back to normal after spring break... gaa.... I have to do homework now.. gomen...
I love you guys.

And HERE'S the continuation...
For those of you who don't know, I posted a comment on Dave's livejournal but it ended up being to long, so here's the rest of it:
"I hope I don't end up sounding like I'm on a ransack-the-fellowship mission or something, but since you mention it, Kaijun and I were talking about something similar a few days ago. We noticed that, going along with the "everyone looks like a classic beauty" comment (however stated), nobody really seems to, at this point, have any really plausible weaknesses. I'm not saying that the weaknesses that people have put down aren't viable, but some of them are sort of naive or just not in enough quantity. Now, of course, if you really truly think your character should be that way then by all means, but I guess what I am saying is that given the chance, when evaluating oneself, most if not all of the things that any one person would say about their self would be, in fact, negative. I'm sure everyone can agree with this statement: nobody's perfect.
"As another example, anyone in choirs would know that whenever we listen to ourselves in a recording after a concert all that seems to stick out are all the places that we messed up, so in saying, I'm pretty confident in our ability to criticize ourselves. You're your own worst critic, right? With that in mind, I also happen to know from many years of personal experience that when creating a fictional character of oneself we like to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative, if you know what I mean. We like to imagine ourselves how we would like to be, wipe away all our faults and give ourselves a wide array of super cool supernatural powers.
"Now of course I'm exaggerating, but this is basically what I see happening in the fellowship. For instance, Raven is allegedly the Queen of Vampires, as I understand. How probable would it be for her, the all-mighty ruler of the night, to, one, travel much at all (given that she has a kingdom to rule), or, two, meet someone as 'lowly' as a hobbit pirate? Now please don't get me wrong, I love the Vampire Priestess and The Darkwalker to death (and I hope it's ok that I used them as the example... eep...) and of course they both have there own respective histories such as Raven's husband betrays her and she gets locked in a tomb, whatever. What I'm saying is that we seem to be becoming the band of super beings that have all the super abilities and power and happen to be the top fighter in the world or know the most magic or something. Do you guys get what I'm saying?
"All I'm saying is that self-glorifying stories are bland and uninteresting. What makes a good story, if you think about it, is having a plain character or group of characters that struggle with some apparently big character flaw and being able to read about how they deal with it. (and variations of such) Of course nobody has to change anything if they don't want to. I just thought I'd bring that into the light."
ALSO, I would like to remind all of you who haven't posted on the last post yet to POST because the meeting is now officially TOMMOROW... so you probably wont be getting any other chances... Especially because I wont be at school tomorrow and wont get home until about 8:30...
Which brings up another subject that need's addressing: As we all should know, the meeting time was scheduled for 9:00 cali time. This is still correct, but as I am to be initiating the meeting I would like to ask you all to please be patient with me if I am late. I would also like to ask you to be online at that time unless there is any inconvenience for you, in which case I should have already been informed as such. Also, here is a list of all the people who I will be inviting to the chat room. For accuracy, please inform me of anyone whom I have left out. And tell me if you would like me to take your name down or scramble it for security reasons. Thank you.

Glee!
Keeping in mind that the meeting is only TWO DAYS AWAY (said as such out of excitement and contempt) I will now post the suggestions that have come up on the topic of discussion. Just so that everyone knows, If you don't suggest slash vote slash whatever before my last journal check just before the meeting then too bad. Your ideas wont be counted as suggestions. This, by no means means that you cant bring it up again during the meeting, but one thing you must consider is that whatever you say must be obviously on topic. Basically, follow the pre-determined rules (scroll down this page to see them again) and everything will be ok... ANYways, here's the list and an updated version of the last two lists.
As a reminder, these are SUGESSTIONS that people have SUGESTTED. We will discuss them in the order of popularity during the meeting taking as much time on each as needed and up to two meetings per topic. Now, of course, some topics merge into one another, but that's fine as long as we try to stay generally on topic. Oh and there are also a few of my own suggestions in there. See posts for further details on certain peoples ideas, unless there mine and then ask me if you cant find it anywhere else. Thanks. Also, you may suggest more than one topic or, if you wish, simply vote on someone else's. *smiles*
4 - Plot line (sli, amedeus, kaijun, devan)
4 - Plot line construction (blackwhitt, svtsvg, devan, amedeus)
3 - Policy on outsiders and Fellowship hierarchy (blackwhitt, swtsvg, amedeus)
1 - How the Fellowship meets (blackwhitt)
1 - Era and setting (amedeus)
1 - Geography/topography of the land (and...) (amedeus)
1 - Mapmaking (amedeus)
1 - Race interactions of characters (amedeus)
Ok people! Now's the time to post! Only two days left until you can't input on the meeting topic anymore! POST!

Only To Tremble In Awe… Well, I must say, even if you don’t believe me, I didn’t expect to be voted for when this whole thing started. Anyway, now that it is started, and finished, I'm a little cautious about how to go about my new duties. As we all (or at least me) must know, I am going to be setting a president here, weather I like it or not, so the with the case being as such, I would like and welcome any heart felt, thought out, die-hard ideas you that you might possibly have to give me. Or just any suggestions as how to go about leading the first Official all-fellowship Fellowship meeting. Demands, hopes, and possibilities alike, I would like all of you to post (here) your suggestions and comments on how I should run it. (am I being repetitive again?) Should I be the one to start the chat room (I'm going to assume this one anyway, but nonetheless), should I make a list of questions/a schedule (of sorts), should I just adjudicate, what? Now, this doesn’t mean that I will follow everyone's directions about how to do this, but I do need your help and I will also be posting what I have decided to do for refutation, rebuttals, complements, whatever, before the meeting comes.
On another (but related) issue, we must now move to the business of choosing our first meeting topic. I would like you guys to also post any topics that you think that we should ever discuss during a meeting and what topic you think we should discuss this meeting. Of course we can add and change as time and things allow, but I think we should at least get a basis of what we all think we should discuss so that we can start thinking about it.
Please, please, please post on this comment! I am making a list of everyone whom I expect to post but hasn't (which is nobody right now, of course) and will be crossing off names as people post. PLEASE post! It's really exactly the same as posting on the Polar Lair except through e-mail! As a reminder, when you e-mail a post label the e-mail "blablabla person's post" and say which day you want it posted to, then type exactly what you want posted, indicate that that is what you want posted and I will post it. Also, remember to write your name somewhere (in the post). Same as in the Polar Lair. Ok, start posting.
Also, tell me if I've left out anyone in the lists and tell anyone who needs to know about this journal entry. Thanks.

I Love You Guys!
I seem to be in a strangely good mood at the moment. (Very tired, yes, but a good mood, nonetheless.) I don’t know, I guess it's all this awesome weather we're getting in LC.
Anyway, I am going to dedicate this post primarily to the rules that have been proposed to structure the meeting on the 24th. And for anyone who doesn't know, we are having an all-fellowship meeting on the 24th of March at 9:00 California time. Also to anyone who needed to know this, start reading Dave's posts more!! *grrr..*
It has also come to my understanding that these rules are also posted on the Polar Lair but as he/she/it (the person who proposed the rules) requested I am posting them here as well in order to make sure that everyone reads them. To vote or comment on any of these topics you should go to the Polar Lair and post in the 'Da Roolz' comment section so that we can attempt to keep all the dialogue about this under one roof. And no, neither will I say who proposed these rules. This is solely, though to protect against any one's personal biases about that person being transferred to the set of rules, which I, personally, agree with.
As a further statement, I vote for Katie to be the 1st meeting's Leader and, as she's agreed to do it, for Viannah to be Secretary. We don't necessarily need to vote on a Secretary, but we do need one and anyway, who would really want to be the Secretary? (No offence to Viannah. I'm just trying to make a point.) With no further adieu, here are the Official Fellowship Rules of Conduct:
1) First of all, we will have a designated discussion leader. And, most importantly, it should be ONE person. It's one situation where a position of leadership is essential to keep our discussion in any semblance of order. Whoever the discussion leader is, if they have any ideas of their own, they'll reserve stating them until everyone has spoken at least once.
2) Any and every participant will be asked to not type unless they have "The floor". Anyone who wants to speak their piece will ask to raise a topic, and the discussion leader will select them singularly. They're free to spend as much time (within reason) making their statement, after which they surrender the floor to someone else. If someone has to leave sooner, they have floor priority.
3) All things stated are to pertain only to the subject at hand, and there will be no otherwise unnecessary dialogue. If anyone wants to make a statement directed to another person in particular, they do it in their own personal IM window to that person. Again, within reason, they'll be allowed to make a comment while another person has the floor, but only when it's a particular idea that hasn't been already stated. For any other statement longer than a quick remark, a participant has to be selected to have the floor.
4) An official transcript of everyone's statements will be made. If anyone is afraid of missing anything, they'll get a copy of the transcript later. The chosen Secretary will take the whole group chat text and file it down, dividing it either by topic, by speaker, or both, to have a comprehensive transcript that's easy to read and filters out any other random dialogue that was deemed unnecessary.
5) We'll start out with specific topics in mind, and focus on them throughout the entire meeting. At the end of any meeting, we'll take a survey and vote on what the next meeting's topic will be. The first few meetings will be to discuss major things, such as proposals for plot ideas (which, in particular, I believe should be the first topic to be discussed. If nothing else, we should at least discuss that in detail first. I'd go so far as to say that we should dedicate this first of many group discussions to that one topic, to make it a little more orderly).
6) This last rule will be optional, and put to a vote. Unless we're particularly productive in one meeting, we'll have two meetings on each topic... one to discuss a certain topic based on ideas that everyone has ready at that time, and one later on the same topic, in the case that anyone wants time to digest the ideas of the last conversation and think on new ideas.
Here's the kicker... if anyone blatantly disobeys these rules, we may be forced to boot you from the meeting. It's something none of us will want to do, but the more disorderly you are, the less input you'll have. And I know we ALL want input.
You will be expected to adhere to theses rules during each and every meeting unless called for by prior decision or suffer the consequences, which, in this case is having no or at least less of a voice, and, as I said before, I know that we ALL want a voice. (slightly repetitive, I know, but eh, what the heck.) Ah, now that is over… I think that that is my longest post to date… I think I'm getting better. I'm so excited! Anyway, I love 'yall!
P.S. Nobody's posting!!! Post, people, post!!!

Some Things to Think About...
For those of you who don't know, currently (at least from what I've concluded from online chats and the like) we are planning on having a all-fellowship meeting hopefully sometime during the coming summer. (Details on where, when, how long, etc. to be released. I will post them here when I find out.) Please! Everyone e-mail me with when you think the best three or four or more times you think you could do it, keeping in mind, of course, college terms and summer school, etc. If every one can do this I then can compile a few possible dates and send out the options to everyone soon, but the only way that this will work is if everyone e-mails me! The whole reason that were planing this so soon is so that we can block out a date in everyone's schedules! Thanks.
Now, a few things to think about and prepare before going to the meeting:(hopefully, some or more of these will also be topics that we will discuss at our first meeting)
- Your character specifically: their quirks, their favorite foods, their turn-ons, whatever.
- Fellowship members like The Fallen Angel and weather or not she should be kept in and aroused on the subject, ignored, just plain kicked out, or what? (for information on The Fallen Angel herself e-mail me, Elasa, or Kaijun and ask about Erin concerning the Fellowship)
- The on-going debate (with mostly Xvi and adversaries) on weather or not we need a map right now and, if so, how we should go about making one.
- Your own personal opinion on how we should write our story.
- Why you think the Nine Sighs are the Nine Sighs and what the distinction is between them and the Later Companions. Or maybe there isn't any distinction. Think about it. Also, if there is something special about the Nine Sighs, what is it and how come there are only nine, and how come it's them and not somebody else, etcetera…
- Please bring any story pieces, completions, or clips that you have written or brain stormed plus any hard or soft information you have on your character and anyone affiliated with them who is outside the fellowship.
- Anything else you think is important or would be useful to bring to the meeting.
</ol>
Gaaa... I've got to go to sleep... I'll post more stuff later. See ya'll. Current Mood: thoughtful | | Monday, February 16th, 2004 | | 9:58 pm |
First Issues!
Ok. For my first post, I would like to present a few of my ideas:
1) In order to get the writing of the story of The Fellowship of the Feet underway, I propose that we alternate chapters. For example: Say, for a second, that I went first; I would write the first chapter - the beginning of the Fellowship - and possibly the second, depending on what happened.
Say... Katie went next: she would write the second chapter with both SwtSvg and Blackwhitt in it (but nobody else).
Then... Angela would write the third chapter with Kaijun, SwtSvg and Blackwitt. You get the picture, right? We would, of course, have to first compile some sort of a list of who goes when, but that can all be arranged at our first official Fellowship of the Feet meeting. *grin*
There is a catch, though. (at least while your writing your chapter(s)) Every member of the Fellowship has to have the last say concerning their particular character. This is a must, weather or not we go with my idea on how to write the story. Say I, in my chapter, had Kaijun get married - or kill her childhood self - or climb up a tree and fly away. Angela should get the last say about weather or not Kaijun would, could or should actually do that, right? All I'm saying is that there are things about each character that only their artificer will know, weather or not they realize it. There's that certain feel to the person and how they would react in certain situations that other writers can just never duplicate.
Also, there's their character's personal background which they will also be know more about than anyone else, weather or not they had someone help them write it or whatever. Do you get what I'm saying? In any case, I feel that, though we might have some problems along the way, (duh, what great novel doesn't?) this is the fairest way to collectively write the story without actually sitting down and brainstorming as a twelve-some headed entity with a fidgeting pen. Please, please, please respond to me with your thoughts on this subject. All I really want is for everyone to be happy with our project. *grin*
2)Well... I have a lot of other ideas, but I guess that's allot to swallow in one day, so I'll post the others later. Ciao!
